Drambusters Whisky Festival 2023

Back to normality, our 2023 event took place on Saturday November 25th. It was a bright day and the rain stayed away for the unloading and packing away so we were all very grateful for that! We were back up to our usual numbers and we had many happy faces streaming through the door, pen, glass and brochure in hand and ready to start the day! The Golden Dram was a Bladnoch 19yo PX release which had just come out. They were delighted to get the kudos for what was obviously, going by the number of votes, a very popular dram!

Here are some of the companies that were represented at the event showing well over 200 products

GLENFARCLAS – CADENHEAD’S – LINDORES ABBEY – CLAXTON’S WHISKIES – BLADNOCH – ISLE OF ARRAN – LAGG – TAMDHU – LOCHLEA – TULLIBARDINE – TOMATIN – ANNANDALE DISTILLERY – AN CNOC – OLD PULTENEY – GLENALLACHIE – GLASCHU SPIRITS – BERRY BROS & RUDD – NINEFOLD RUMS TOMINTOUL – DARK ART DISTILLERY – EL RAYO TEQUILA – FETTERCAIRN – JURA – ROCK ROSE – FABLE WHISKIES – GLEN SCOTIA

Drambusters Whisky Festival 2022

Golden Dram 2022

This was our first post lockdown Whisky Festival and what an event it was! Held in June rather than in our more normal November, it was a tad warmer for our door staff than they are used to but the lovely day didn’t deter our customers from coming along to sample the goods on offer. The Golden Dram was won by Claxton’s Ben Nevis 25yo “A Different Cut” which was received an overwhelming vote on the day.

There were many stands to visit on the day showing well over 200 products including, but not exclusive to the following

GLENFARCLAS – ISLE OF RAASAY – LINDORES ABBEY – CLAXTON’S WHISKIES – BENRIACH – ISLE OF ARRAN – GLENGOYNE – OLD PERTH – LOCH LOMOND GROUP – TULLIBARDINE – BENROMACH – TOMATIN – ANNANDALE – SPEYBURN – GLENALLACHIE – KILCHOMAN – DEANSTON – GLENCADAM – DALMORE – BRUICHLADDICH – GLASGOW 1770

TB Watson’s Whisky Festival 2024

Formerly known as Drambusters Whisky Festival

Our 12th Whisky Festival took place on a dreich day at our usual venue, Easterbrook Hall in the Crichton Estate, Dumfries. The damp conditions didn’t put off the large queues forming in advance of the doors opening and the crowds piled in at 12 noon with the hall filling up quickly. There were 43 stands of drinks including a couple of foodie ones for extra choice and our on site shop was busy from the start. As always, we had a full complement of staff both around the hall and in our pop up shop.

Andy, our brand and web developer was on hand taking photos and videos of it all happening and these will be posted up as soon as we can. Many of you would have spotted him dotting around with his big stick .. to much amusement on the day!

The Golden Dram was a return to the fray by Claxton’s Spirits with their Mannochmore 34yo Warehouse No. 1 Single Cask. You may remember that they won in 2022 with their Ben Nevis 25yo. Interestingly, the second place in the votes is worth a mention as it was the Bladnoch 19yo PX Cask which won the Golden Dram in 2023

The 43 stands showcased 229 different products from locally homemade tablet at £3.50 to the Bladnoch 30yo at £880 so there was something for every pocket. As normal, the ‘whisky cloakroom’ was really busy with customers making their purchases as they tasted (and before the favourites sold out) and leaving them in the safe keeping of our ‘cloakroom’ staff to be collected on departure, or from our shop in the following week.
