Glengyle Distillery

The Glengyle Distillery, located in the whisky-rich region of Campbeltown, was originally established in the 1870s and then re-established in 2004, marking a significant revival for the area's distilling heritage. It produces Kilkerran single malt, known for its balance between traditional Campbeltown character and modern craftsmanship.

Glengyle's resurrection was spearheaded by the Mitchell family, owners of the nearby Springbank Distillery, with the aim of contributing to the revival of Campbeltown's whisky prestige. Kilkerran whisky is characterised by its slightly peaty and maritime qualities, combined with a rich, complex profile that showcases the distinctive attributes of its production, including its non-chill filtered and no added colour processes. Glengyle's approach to whisky making reflects a blend of age-old methods and contemporary precision, earning Kilkerran critical acclaim within the whisky community.
