High Coast Distillery
Many distilleries make fantastic whisky, but few succeed in making it better than others. As always there is not a right or wrong when it comes to personal taste, but quality, accuracy and conditions separate distilleries from each other. There’s a lot of crucial elements that make High Coast distillery unique.
Distilling is the part of the craft where the distiller really controls the character of the distillate. At High Coast they aim for a fruity raw spirit and because those flavors come early in the process they make their first cut as early as 13 minutes for our unsmoked distillate. The second cut at 67% probably occurs earlier than at any other distillery and prevents heavier substances from accompanying the whisky.
