The Isle of Raasay Distillery was founded in 2014 by R&B Distillers, co-owned by Alasdair Day and Bill Dobbie. Located on the small, rugged island of Raasay, it became the island's first legal whisky distillery. Production began in 2017, using local natural resources to shape the whisky's character. The distillery uses water from a nearby Celtic well, which is mineral-rich and filtered through volcanic rock. It operates with two copper pot stills: a wash still and a spirit still, contributing to a light and fruity spirit profile.
