Galloway Distillery
Formerly known as Crafty Distillery, Galloway Distillery sits on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park and has become one of Scotland’s most exciting independent spirits producers. Founded in 2017, the site originally gained acclaim for its award-winning Hills & Harbour Gin and 24Seven Vodka, both crafted with a strong focus on local ingredients and sustainability.
In 2025, the distillery was acquired by Sam Heughan and Alex Norouzi, co-founders of The Sassenach Spirits Company. The site has since been rebranded as Galloway Distillery, marking a new chapter in the region’s distilling story. It will now serve as the production home for The Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin and future whisky projects, expanding the distillery’s portfolio while continuing its commitment to craftsmanship, transparency, and environmental responsibility.
