BENROMACH CONTRASTS 10 YEAR OLD VIRGIN OAK
Benromach's Contrasts series showcases the distillery's exploration of diverse cask influences, and the 2013 10-Year-Old Virgin Oak expression is a testament to this innovative spirit. Distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2024, this single malt has been matured exclusively in virgin American oak casks, a departure from the traditional use of ex-bourbon or ex-sherry barrels.
The use of virgin oak imparts a distinctive character to the whisky, introducing pronounced vanilla and spice notes that complement Benromach's signature subtle smokiness. This maturation process results in a harmonious balance between sweet and spicy elements, offering a unique twist on the classic Speyside profile.
