The Chinkapin has arrived in store — the third core release in the Isle of Raasay Single Malt range. Bottled at 50.2% ABV, it’s natural colour and non-chill filtered.

Made from 100% Scottish barley, both peated and unpeated spirit are matured separately in a combination of fresh and refill Chinkapin oak casks, then brought together to create Raasay’s signature lightly peated style.

Chinkapin Oak is a North American oak that’s still rarely used for whisky — and it really shines here. With high toast and heavy char, these casks add a standout barbecue-like smokiness and depth that complements the gentle peat beautifully.
