OCTOMORE 16.1
Octomore 16.1 is the benchmark release in Bruichladdich’s 16th Octomore series: super-heavily peated, but built to show balance as much as raw smoke. It is a 5-year-old Islay single malt, bottled at 59.3% ABV and made from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley, peated to 101.4 PPM. Matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, it keeps the cask recipe deliberately straightforward, allowing the spirit, peat and barley character to lead. Expect powerful smoke, but with sweetness and freshness too: salted caramel, honeyed melon, apricot, coconut, chocolate and earthy mineral notes.
