Tomatin's 14 Year Old Port Casks is a masterpiece in terms of Tomatin choosing first class wood to mature their whiskies in. The Tawny Port Pipes used in the final maturation process are from the renowned Symington Family Estates, an empire of the port industry. The casks used in the perfecting of this whisky would have held port for around 50 years, which really becomes apparent on the palate. Rich notes of berries, cherries and sweet honey progress into a toffee, nutty finish, with a hint of lingering spice. A really enjoyable dram.
