This 2014 Strathmill spent 10 years in a hogshead before being bottled at a robust 56.4% ABV, with only 310 bottles produced. It is a bright, fruit-led Speyside malt, combining ripe and stewed orchard fruit with honeyed sweetness and soft vanilla from the cask. There's a pleasant creamy quality underneath, while gooseberry, apricot and gentle baking spices provide freshness and complexity. A lively expression of a distillery rarely seen as a single malt.
