Port Charlotte 10 Year Old is Bruichladdich’s core heavily peated Islay single malt, bottled at 50% ABV. Peated to 40ppm, it is matured entirely on Islay and made from 100% Scottish barley. The cask recipe is 65% first-fill American whiskey casks, 10% second-fill American whiskey casks and 25% second-fill French wine casks, giving a balance of sweet oak, fruit and maritime smoke. It is non-chill filtered and colouring free, with a style that is powerful but not harsh: peat smoke, citrus, vanilla, coastal salinity and gentle wine-cask richness all sit together well.
