Maturation Details:
This expression undergoes an initial maturation period in American oak barrels, followed by a finishing period in specially selected Sauternes wine casks. Sauternes, a renowned French dessert wine from the Bordeaux region, is crafted from rare white grapes affected by 'noble rot,' which concentrates the sugars and imparts a distinctive sweetness. The influence of these casks enriches the whisky with luscious notes of ripe peach, caramel sauce, and stem ginger, complementing The GlenAllachie's signature honeyed character.
