PORT CHARLOTTE ISLAY BARLEY 2014
Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2014 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 50% ABV and peated to 40ppm. The barley for this vintage was grown on eight Islay farms — Cruach, Craigens, Island, Dunlossit, Coull, Rockside, Sunderland and Mulindry — all within 15 miles of the distillery. Matured entirely on Islay, the cask recipe is 84% first-fill bourbon, 8% second-fill virgin oak and 8% second-fill Bordeaux wine casks. It combines Port Charlotte’s dry, smoky style with clear barley sweetness, malty biscuit notes and ripe fruit.
