LUNA BENEGAS CABERNET SAUVIGNON
The Benegas Family are intrinsically linked to the development of the wine industry in Argentina. It was the visionary Don Tiburcio Benegas who converted his grandfatherβs alfalfa farm to produce grapes in the late 1800s. Tiburcio was a true pioneer of the wine industry; promoting Mendozaβs irrigation system and traveling to Chile and then to France to source the perfect varietals for their vineyards in Mendoza. Don Tiburcio gave away vine cuttings to all of those who shared his vision with the purpose of increasing the number of wineries and establish Mendoza as the premier wine region in Argentina β in so doing increasing planted hectares of vines by over four thousand percent. The modern business was rehoused in 2000 by Federico Benegas Lynch when he bought a 19th century winery and rebuilt it, adding state of the art technology while keeping the history in the walls and pools. Today Bodegas Benegas produces exceptional terroir-driven wines full of character and charm.
