Peating level of the whisky in the bottle is 42ppm

The whisky in this bottling was initially filled into Bourbon Barrels in 2012, where it matured for nearly five and a half years. In September 2018, it was transferred to Koval Quarter Casks for an additional five and a half years of maturation. Only a limited number of these Quarter Casks were filled and they and haven't used them again, making them a rare part of the collection.

During this secondary maturation, the intensity of the heavily peated whisky deepened, developing a more complex and full-bodied character. The smaller cask size increased the surface contact between the wood and the spirit, accelerating the maturation process. The result is a whisky with more intense flavors, adding depth and nuance to the final dram. Smokier notes intertwine with the signature charred citrus and sweet vanilla spices of Arran Single Malt, reminiscent of a bonfire built from barrel staves.
