PORT CHARLOTTE SYRAH CASK
Port Charlotte SYC:01 is a 10-year-old heavily peated Islay single malt, distilled in 2013 and bottled at 54.4% ABV. It is made from 100% traceable Scottish-grown barley, malted to 40 PPM, matured entirely on Islay and bottled using Islay spring water. This is the first Port Charlotte Cask Exploration release to focus on Syrah casks, with the wine influence bringing red fruits, strawberry, warm citrus and spice to the distillery’s earthy, coastal peat smoke. It is non-chill filtered and colouring free, keeping the texture full and natural.

Nose
Caramel sweetness, red berries and strawberry, with apricot, warm citrus, soft spice and aromatic peat smoke.
Palate
Rich and full-bodied, showing sweet malt, red fruit, dark berries, peppery oak, smoky char and a touch of coastal salinity.
Finish
Long, smoky and spiced, with lingering red fruit, earthy peat, warming oak and a clean maritime edge.
