SANDEMAN QUINTA DO SEIXO VINTAGE PORT 2013
Few images in the world of wine are as iconic as the βDonβ, the logo created for the Sandeman family in 1928 by George Massiot Brown. The Donβs cape was inspired by the traditional attire worn by students at the University of Porto, while the sombrero pays homage to the familyβs roots in Jerez.
Today, Sandeman Ports are as renowned as the Donβs image. This wasnβt always the case, but since the Guedes family acquired Sandeman from Seagram in 2002, significant investments in both vineyards and the winery have propelled the brand to the forefront of the Port trade. A clear testament to this success is winemaker LuΓs Sottomayor being named Fortified Winemaker of the Year at the 2022 International Wine Challenge.
Tasting Notes
Deep purple in colour, nearly opaque. The nose is intense and powerful, with aromas of cherries, raspberries, plums, and blueberries, alongside floral hints of violet and rose, and subtle touches of mint. On the palate, firm yet ripe tannins and a precise acidity support the concentrated, complex flavours, leading to a long, lingering finish.
