CORTE GIARA AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA
Corte Giara was established in 1989 as the nΓ©gociant label of the renowned Valpolicella producer Allegrini. Over time, Corte Giara acquired the vineyards they now source from, ensuring that all grapes are estate-grown. Throughout this transition, the Allegrini family has maintained the same meticulous attention to detail in producing these wines that their Valpolicella estate is known for. This dedication to quality has set Corte Giara wines apart from many others produced at this level in the Verona region.
The grapes for the Cortegiara Amarone are cultivated in vineyards located in the hills of the Valpolicella area, specifically in Colline di Grezzana, Montorio, and Marcellise. These vineyards are situated at an elevation of 180-250 metres above sea level, with a south-east orientation on chalky, well-drained soils. The vines are trained using the pergola system, with approximately 3,000 vines per hectare. Averaging 31 years in age, the vines are pruned with 14-15 buds per fruiting cane.
